This website deals with using the SafeNet (former Aladdin) eToken with Linux. It is supposed to be a collection of necessary information and to be a contact point for everyone willing to run the eToken under Linux or do some new development. LSE will be on the Linuxtag 2012 in Berlin end of May. The main topic we present there will be to show the new release of LSE's main product LinOTP.

The former eToken Middleware or PKI Client is now called SafeNet Authentication Client. The SafeNet Authentication Client 8.0 was released.

Added notes on XCA to Applications for eToken.

LSE published a completely GPLv2 based LinOTP Community Edition.

LSE developed a linux based backend LinOTP to use the eTokenNG OTP.

Nevertheless if using the Aladdin middleware you can still use many usefull tools from the opensc project like pkcs11-tool, pam_pkcs11 or opensc-engine.

Interoperability between Linux and Windows

The current Aladdin Middleware 4.55 ensures complete interoperability with the certificates and keys on the eToken between Windows and Linux.
